Ramada by Wyndham Itahari Brings East Nepal into Focus Through Its Journey in Destination Promotion

ITAHARI, NEPAL: Since commencing operations in January 2026, Ramada by Wyndham Itahari, part of the internationally recognised brand Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, has been building its presence as a hospitality destination in East Nepal. However, its efforts to promote the region began even before the hotel opened. Through its social media platforms, Ramada has been highlighting destinations across East Nepal, bringing attention to the region’s natural beauty, wildlife and travel experiences.

The official key handover to Ramada by Wyndham Itahari took place in March, when Mr. Animesh Kumar, Head of Operation EURASIA, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, visited the property and formally handed over the key, marking the brand’s presence in East Nepal in presence of chairman Mr. Desh Bandhu Basnet along with Team Ramada.

Since its establishment in East Nepal, Ramada has made destination promotion a part of its brand story, alongside accommodation, dining and facilities. The idea is simple: give people more reasons to visit East Nepal, not just a place to stay when they get there.

One of the key destinations featured in its efforts is Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, known for its rich biodiversity and diverse birdlife. Through their collaboration with Bhupendra Yadav, Conservation Officer of Koshi Tappu, Ramada has been working to highlight the reserve’s ecological importance and encourage greater interest in the destination. Its Koshi Tappu Wilderness Escape package further connects the hotel experience with an opportunity for guests to explore the natural attractions of East Nepal.

The initiative reflects Ramada’s continued interest in showcasing what lies beyond the hotel. East Nepal offers a range of experiences, from wildlife and birdwatching to cultural landmarks and scenic landscapes. By bringing these destinations into its communication, the hotel aims to encourage travellers to look beyond familiar travel routes and discover more of the region.

Next to destination promotion, Ramada has also gained popularity for its food and beverage offerings. Its dining venues and food experiences have become an important part of the hotel’s identity, attracting guests and local diners alike. This growing interest in its F&B offerings adds another dimension to Ramada’s presence in Itahari, positioning it as a place not only to stay but also to dine and spend time. What makes Ramada’s approach notable is that its promotion of East Nepal began before the hotel opened and has continued since, placing the region alongside the property itself.

As East Nepal continues to offer opportunities for tourism and exploration, Ramada by Wyndham Itahari aims to remain part of the region’s evolving hospitality landscape. Through its destination-focused communication, collaborations and dining experiences, the hotel is working to strengthen the connection between where people stay and what they discover during their visit. For Ramada by Wyndham Itahari, the journey is about more than establishing a hotel in East Nepal. It is also about encouraging people to discover the region, experience its attractions and see what makes this part of the country worth visiting.
