Kathmandu, Nepal - 23 July 2026 - TikTok has announced the launch of a new search guide designed to help users in Nepal access verified, up to date information during the ongoing monsoon flood season. The initiative is part of TikTok's continued effort to strengthen factual awareness on its platform and limit the spread of misinformation during natural disasters.

Users searching for flood-related content on TikTok will now see a banner directing them to verify information through credible sources. The guide links users directly with trusted organizations including BIPAD-the country's national disaster information portal and TikTok’s Safety Center resources, as well as a direct link to TikTok’s Tragic Event Support guide which provides guidance for individuals affected by distressing events.

The guide supports resources outlining what constitutes a tragic event, including natural disasters and personal loss, and offers information on accessing mental health support and sharing or reporting content related to such events responsibly.
