Kathmandu: AION, the electric vehicle (EV) brand under China's GAC Group, has reached a major global milestone by surpassing 30 million cumulative EV sales, underscoring its rapid expansion and growing consumer confidence in international markets.According to the company, the achievement reflects AION's increasing popularity among customers worldwide, driven by its advanced technology, high-performance electric vehicles, and intelligent driving experience. The brand says it continues to address evolving mobility needs while contributing to the global transition toward sustainable transportation.
The company also reported strong export growth in 2026. During the first six months of the year, GAC exported 121,500 vehicles, representing a 132 percent year-on-year increase. The performance highlights the rising international demand for the company's products and its expanding global footprint.GAC Group has been strengthening its presence across key markets in the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and
the Americas. The automaker is currently operating in 110 countries, supported by a network of 746 sales and service outlets, six international manufacturing facilities, and nine overseas parts distribution centers.
The company attributes its sustained growth to its integrated global ecosystem, which spans research and development, manufacturing, supply chain management, sales, and after-sales services. This end-to-end approach enables GAC to deliver localized products and customer support tailored to the needs of individual markets.
