Kathmandu — Varun Chaudhary has emphasized the urgent need for Nepal to create a more conducive environment to attract major international investors. He stated that without clear policy stability, investment-friendly legal frameworks, and robust infrastructure development, it will remain difficult for the country to bring in substantial foreign direct investment (FDI). Chaudhary currently serves as the Managing Director of CG Hospitality Holdings under CG Corp Global. With a legacy spanning over 150 years, the Chaudhary Group has established itself as a multinational conglomerate operating across 24 countries worldwide.
The group comprises 79 brands, 167 companies, and employs more than 13,000 people. It is also recognized as Nepal’s first company to achieve a billion-dollar valuation. Listed by Forbes, the group has diversified investments across fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), hospitality, banking, finance, and telecommunications sectors. Chaudhary began his professional journey immediately after completing his undergraduate studies and has led multiple verticals
within the group over the past 15 years.
His leadership has driven expansion into new sectors, including the growth of Ayurvedic products and the establishment of cement manufacturing operations in Nepal. He has played a pivotal role in expanding the global presence of the “WAI WAI” brand under CG Foods. The brand is now available in nearly 50 countries, with production facilities extended to India, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, and Egypt. Known for his “lead by example” leadership philosophy, Chaudhary places strong emphasis on team empowerment.
He has also demonstrated commitment to social responsibility by initiating and supporting various programs aimed at assisting persons with disabilities. Highlighting the broader economic landscape, Chaudhary stressed that Nepal must ensure a stable policy environment, simplify administrative procedures, and build investor confidence to attract foreign investment. He underscored the importance of collaboration between the government and private sector to achieve these goals.
