Nepal, February 04, 2026 – TikTok has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Election Commission, Nepal (ECN) to support election integrity efforts in the country. The MoU was exchanged at a program organized at the ECN premises today.As a part of the partnership, a TikTok delegation also conducted a capacity building Election Integrity Workshop, focusing on promoting responsible digital engagement, combating misinformation, and strengthening understanding of election integrity among key stakeholders.
Ahead of the 2026 Nepal General Elections, the workshop introduced ECN officials to TikTok’s approach to protecting electoral processes on the platform, including its Community Guidelines and policies on misinformation, political content, and deceptive behaviours. Attendees were briefed on TikTok’s tools and features that help users access reliable information, report potential violations, and better understand how election-related content is managed on the platform.

TikTok will continue to collaborate with the ECN and relevant stakeholders to bolster election integrity and safeguard a reliable information environment for its Nepali community.
