Left alliance is approved by people: Prachanda
Kathmandu, Dec 21 : CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said people jollily approved the left alliance through the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies.
At a programme organized in his honour in the capital city Thursday, he said responsibility has come to work in favour of people as the left alliance was approved by the people.
The Maoist Centre Chairman said the parties and leaders should be honest to the people’s mandate expressed through the polls and performance should keep the people at the centre.
“Our responsibility is to materialize stability and development in the country. We should be further sincere from the people’s approval and should move ahead with due respect to the mandate,” Prachanda added.
“As people wholeheartedly accepted the UML-Maoist Centre poll alliance, no one has right to turn left and right,” the Maoist Chairman said indicating the party unification of Maoist and UML.
According to him, the recent debate on the election to the National Assembly can be taken as different interpretations of constitution and laws. It however can be settled with people’s mandate, he added.
The Chairman argued that he and the left alliance were shouldered with historic opportunity. So, he would move ahead by respecting it, the Chairman added.
“I’m indebted to Nepal and Nepali people”, he said, expressing happiness and further claiming that his leadership waged the biggest movement in the country, resulting in republic, federalism and new constitution.
Moreover, the Chairman said everything except national unity and geographical integrity could be revised based on people’s mandate.
Chairman of the front, Baba Basnet, urged Chairman Dahal to immediately take initiative to unify the present left alliance.
